Yeah, Mom didn't think the heading of my last post was funny. But, you know what, Mom, you can write your own blog and title the posts any way you want! Just kidding, love you Mom!
Today we are doing training for the team positions. I have two jobs on the team, one I chose and one I was asked to do. The first one I will be going to is for Project Outreach Liason, or POL. This means that when we are on a project in a community, I am supposed to call up organizations that I think would benefit from NCCC and tell them about the program and how they could get a crew like us to come out and help them with a project. Not exactly thrilled to be doing this job because it sounds a lot like solicitation. But I was asked to fill this job with another teammate, so I'll do my part.
The second training is the one I'm real excited about. I will be my team's photojournalist. I get to take pictures of us on the job and showing off our crazy working skills. I will also submit a weekly update for the campus newsletter and will help put the yearbook together at the end of the year. I'm very excited to play photographer and get more chances to use my new videocamera.
Today was also the first day of PT that we did not run. We stayed inside and did calestenics (sp). I feel that I got more of a workout doing pushups, crunches, leg lifts and donkey kicks that I did when we were "running" (ie, me walking with an occasional jog). I don't have to go to PT tomorrow because I was not late once for our 5:30 workouts. Ha! You all thought I couldn't wake up before 10! I've probably done more today that you'll do all day! No, I don't mean that. 5:30 sucks big time and no one should be up at that hour.
