Oh, lots of junk to share. This will be a good one, promise.
On Wednesday my team went on a one day project to a Boys and Girls Club in Sacramento. We were there from 2 to 8 helping kids with homework for an hour and then just playing with them the rest of the time. I had so much fun making macaroni jewelery, painting and just listening and talking to the kids. It broke my heart whenever they would ask us if we would be back the next day and we had to tell them no. But, little did I know what our first spike project would be.
Wait, being on spike means that my team will have a project so far away from campus that we will be living in the city our project is. Ok, I try to keep the Ameri-lingo to a minimum, so if I type something that I don't explain, just let me know. Anyway...
Today we found out where our first spike would be. This is what I have be so anxious to find out. Earlier this week my team was trying to figure out where we were going by asking our team leader questions. I asked if I'd need my bathing suit, and she said it's possible, like she did to all our questions, but she was smiling and nodding at the same time. So where in the heck am I going? San Diego! Holy freakin' cow! I'll be 10 minutes from the beach and less than an hour from Mexico. I think we got not only the best locale, but we also got the best project too. We will be working at the King/ Chavez Charter School mentoring and tutoring the students. A fun city and my perfect project...how lucky am I!? I'll be leaving Feb. 5 and am so excited I could just pee!
I've gotta go to dinner now and rub it in the other team's faces that I'm going to San Diego! Later, gators!

at first glance i thought you were going to rub your dinner into the other teams' faces. glad to hear you are rubbing in that you are going to san diego and presumably eating your dinner.
also, hooray for san diego!
