Jennapalooza 2007!

I'm coming home tomorrow! Yay! I'll fly out of Houston at 8:50 am and arrive in Portland at 11:16 am on Saturday. I'm so excited for this vacation, you can't even imagine. I hope I can see as many people as possible, but I also intend on relaxing and recouperating from five months of hard work. So call me, come on over and we'll do lunch or drinks or whatever. Act now! Space is going fast!

Howdy!

Right now I am in the dining room at Camp Cullen, a YMCA camp outside of Houston. Let me tell you, this has to be the Hilton of summer camps. The cabins not only have electricity, but also ceiling fans and air conditioning. There is a water slide, rifle range, and wireless internet. Texans know how to do their camps!

We got here on Friday and last night (Saturday) I went out to some bars about a mile and a half away from the camp. Oh my! Get this...I line danced in a country bar with a live band and played shuffle board with an old guy in a cowboy hat! How great is that?! Then at the next bar I sang karaoke to that Carrie Underwood song that is about destroying her guy's truck because he's cheating on her. I think I have earned my cowboy hat and belt buckle now. Yeah!

Still don't know where my team is going next. I am hoping that we will know by tomorrow. It's true that I am curious about where I will be, but it makes me more curious when everybody else knows their projects and they keep asking us where we are going and we have no clue. I'll let ya'll know when I find out. But for now, adios!

Not dead yet...

It has been two weeks since my last post. Here are the highlights...
*Attacked by fire ants at an ISP
*Drilled through steel beams at the gym
*Played with adorable puppies and kittens at an animal shelter ISP
*Completed my section of the team's project portfolio
*Got absolutely drenched while working outside in a thunderstorm (yes, we did have the smarts to come in out of the rain)
*Went to New Orleans for fun and not work for a change
*Talked to some friends on the phone that I hadn't talked to in ages

Not much else of note to talk about. This is my last week with Operation Blessing. On Friday the team drives to Camp Cullen, a YMCA camp about 90 miles north of Houston, TX. There we will have our transition week with the same businessy-type stuff we did when we came back from San Diego. Then on Saturday, May 26, I fly home to Portland! I can hardly wait! I'm so excited to see my family and friends and cat and get out of this damn humidity and heat! Seriously, I think the people down here have never heard of the north and it's humidity-free climate. I think someone should tell them that they don't have to live in this muggy hell and they could have it so much better!

Not a long entry tonight, so I apologize. I think that the camp has internet, so I'll try to keep you all posted about my life, like where my next project will be (we still don't know!) Good night friends!
