Goodbye, Grammy

My Grammy, Dorothy Balsley, passed away this morning in her sleep.

They took the breathing tube out yesterday, which made her feel better. She was able to talk a bit and was definitely more comfortable. Her weakened heart just couldn't sustain the rest of her body anymore.

She went knowing how much mom and I loved her and we know how much she loved us. We let her know how much everyone was praying for her and sending their love to her. She was ready to go.

She told my mother if we gave her a funeral she'd come back and haunt us, so we will not be having any services. She wanted to be cremated and made arrangements for it 4 years ago. We will place her ashes on the graves of her sons, Craig, who is buried in Sandy, and Douglas, who is buried in Lewiston, ID.

Mom and I want to thank you, our friends, for all of the support and love that you have given us this past week.

Grammy will always be in my heart. Her strength, kindness and love will live on in everyone who knew her.
