An Oregonian Once Again

I made it back to Oregon safe and sound. And what do I come home to? The Momma with H1N1! Ahhh! She is almost herself again, but that still doesn't stop me from making pig jokes. Like does she have to now buy pants with little holes in them for her tail? Things like that keep us laughing.

Last week I was on the go every day trying to see the things I wanted to see before leaving and saying my goodbyes to New Englanders. It was such a bittersweet week. The weather was beautiful for the most part and the foliage was gorgeous. I met another Kangiser who is my fourth cousin and runs a bar in downtown Boston (fantastic guy), saw the first Christian Science church (beautiful), went to the North End with Erin (cannoli at Mike's Pastries...a-maz-ing!), had a final BLT at Flour with Jess (yay!), had a final veggie burger at Channel with the performance management team at Jumpstart (wonderful for both the food and company), a final brunch with my VISTA Sistas (I love you all), a final jazz brunch at Johnny D's with roommate Brianne (wonderful again) and said too many goodbyes to count.

I know that I made the right choice to move back to Oregon. My heart feels at home here. The two ladies that I care the most about in this world are here. I can't wait to see all of my friends here who have only recently known me as the friend who they maybe see once a year. I can't wait to be more a part of their lives and for them to be in mine.

I am starting to feel the tinges of panic over not having a job or a clue as to what I want to do, but so far they are minor. After my a little road trip to visit Ky and Jon in southern Oregon and then down to Calistoga to visit my Aunt Geneva, I will need to make serious decisions about my life. But for now, I will sleep in a little, go to coffee shops for the free wifi and spend time with The Momma and Grammy. I am content for now...

I LOVE the first Christian Science church in Boston... it's beautiful. I have pictures of it hanging up on my wall at home. =)

Welcome back to Oregon! Hope to get a chance to see you/catch up. I ran into Nicole at Costco last night... small world. =)
