I am, however, taking a bit of a detour from the Friday Favorites and for the next few posts will be writing about Boston Favorites. I don't know how many posts like this I will do...I guess until I run out of things to rave about. Because while after living in Boston for a year I found that the east coast just wasn't for me right now, there were so many things that I did love about the city. Today's list is some of my favorite food and drink things about the city
Dunkin' Donuts - the coffee isn't great, but damn if it isn't affordable and convenient. There are Dunky D's in Boston like there are hipsters in Portland...EVERYWHERE!
Flour - Near the office where I worked. The best BLTs and chocolate cupcakes! Also the place where I saw Brooke Shields with her family eating lunch
Kickass Cupcakes - would be a favorite for just the name alone, but also really tasty cupcakes. This place was also just down the street from my house
Mike's Pastries - Holy Canoli! I went here for the first time during my last week in Boston. Everyone told me that I needed to go here and they were not wrong. I took this picture of my chocolate chip canoli. It was so good that it had to be shown in soft focus
Razzy's - A divey little bar that my roommates introduced me to. On the weekends it actually has a line outside. I have only been on the karaoke nights where I rocked out to Tina Turner, Cher and Bonnie Rait. Oh, the fun of listening to drunken renditions of Neil Diamond...
Channel Cafe - also by my office. I am not vegetarian, but this place has the best veggie burger I've ever had. They make them there with a chickpea base and serve it on flat bread. Every vegetarian friend that I have taken there agrees that the veggies burgers are delicious. There is also an art gallery in the cafe.
Mr. Crepe - This place in my neighborhood makes wonderful crepes. I call the place Mr. Creepy because it is funny, not because of the quality of the cafe or the food they serve
There was a lot of other places I could have put on this list, but these were by far my favorites of the favorites.
