Hi everyone! How's it going? This has been a strange week for me since I thought I'd still be employed and am now not, but I have been keeping busy in the mornings staining the front and back decks of The Momma's house. Listening to podcasts made the time go by quickly, so if this ever gets to the How Stuff Works people, thank you for your informative and entertaining podcasts. Also, thank you to everyone who called, emailed or facebook-messaged me this past week. Your care and concern are sparks of happiness in my day :)
Anyway, today is the day that I start pulling my life back together (for the umpteenth time, I know). I am trying a new job-searching approach and am looking to sign up with a temp agency. I have heard of people getting permanent jobs from their temp jobs and I'd like to try and hop on that wagon. I am really unsure of how to proceed other than doing a Google search of temp agencies in Portland and randomly applying to some. Does anyone have any advice? I'd also like to hear how the process went for you if you ever signed on with a temp agency and if you have any recommendations or tips for what agency to look in to. I'd like to stay in the SE Portland area, but would consider expanding the search. Advance thanks to anyone who can help me out with this :)
