friday favorites: what I am thankful for

I hope that everyone had a lovely day yesterday. I enjoyed Thanksgiving with The Momma and Grammy after being out of the state for the last two turkey days. We played games (I won in Scrabble and Rumikub but lost in Yahtzee), laughed as The Momma and I grossed out Grammy at the dinner table and ate delicious food. Ahhh! We also talked about what we wanted for Christmas, and I realized that there wasn't anything that I needed and only a few items that I wanted. This makes me feel incredibly blessed that all of my needs are met and I can enjoy the holiday season without worry. So, as many people reflect on what they are thankful for this time of year, my list today is what I am thankful for (in no particular order [after the first two])

My Family - If you've been keeping up with this blog, you will know that The Momma and Grammy are two terrific ladies and I know that they will always have my back. My blood-related family may be small, but there are also the people who I love like they were related to me. For all of them, I am thankful.

My Friends - After the past few years, I have friends all over the country. Some of my closest friends live thousands of miles away. Some I have known for 85% of my life. The friends that I hold dearest and the ones that I know that I will be friends with forever. You know who yor are...and I am grateful for your love and laughs throughout our friendship :)

Living in Oregon - Oh, how I missed you while I was away.

My car Babs - She is one bad-ass boat and I love her.

My cat - Jelly Bean can be mean and crotchity, but she is my mean and crotchity cat and I love her to bits.

Freedom - I don't just mean freedom in the patriotic sense. I am thankful that the world is open to me and that I have the luxury of figuring out what my next step in life is without mountains of stress or responsibilities.

Glee - By far my favorite TV show. If you haven't seen it yet you MUST watch it!

Coffee - Now that I drink coffee and have admitted I'm a grown-up because of it, this has become a vital part of the beginning of my day.

Everyone who serves their country - Thank you, military folks, for serving and protecting us. And thank you, volunteers. From committing your life to service to helping out in classrooms to donating toys for kids for Christmas, you do make a difference in our lives. The world is better because of people like you.

Books - From "When You Give a Mouse a Cookie" to "To Kill a Mockingbird" to "The Idiot Girl's Action-Adventure Guide," they take me to different places, teach me things and make me laugh. Yay books!

25% employee discount at Pier 1 -  Enough said.

My George Foreman Grill - Meat would not be the same without you, George!

...and for all this I am truly grateful!
