friday favorites: laughs

I have finished my Boston Favorites lists and will now be returning to Friday Favorites, only I will be driving to southern Oregon tomorrow to visit my wonderful friend Kyla, so I am writing one day early. Today I would like to spotlight my favorite things that make me laugh. These things will always and forever make me laugh, and I hope they make you laugh as well.

The Muppets - I am too young to remember the original The Muppet Show, but I grew up watching the Muppet movies and can now watch the show through the magic of DVD. The humor with these characters is universal in it's plain silliness. I find something new everytime I watch the Muppets and catch jokes that I didn't understand when I first watched them. Oh man, they are funny!

Classic Looney Toons - The one where Bugs Bunny goes to Transylvania and meets the vampire is my favorite. Especially when he goes up against the vampire and changes him into different things with "magic words." "Walla Walla Washington." Ha!

People Falling Down - I rarely feel bad when I witness this because I know that I have had some pretty humorous spills myself. This, and people getting hit in the crotch, is why the show America's Funniest Home Videos will always be on and will always make me laugh.

Get Fuzzy - This is my favorite comic strip. I think that most people can see their own cat through Bucky and their dog through Satchel. Oh man, I love this comic.

The Momma and I Ganging Up Against Grammy - I know that Grammy really thinks it's funny when The Momma and I show off our "see-food" at the dinner table and when we trash talk each other when we play games, but she never shows it. It just makes it more of a challenge for The Momma and me.

"The Emperor's New Groove" - This is my favorite Disney animation movie. Just watch the shoulder angels parts and tell me it didn't make you laugh!

Tugboating - This is what I was told to call flatulence while growing up. Call me a 7-year-old, but I still think that tootin' is hilarious. This is why I can't go to yoga classes because whenever someone (or me) rips one, I can't hold in the laughter. It tends to be a mood ruiner in the class. Come on! Tugboats are funny!

I'd love to hear what other people think is funny. What will you always laugh at, no matter if you are 9 or 99 years old?
