Top Ten Embarrassing Music Selections

For this installment of Top Ten, I have chosen to reveal things I am not terribly proud of. We all have them and always make excuses when people find them on our Ipods or CD collections. Embarrassing music. I will hide no longer, though. Since I am sharing these albums with you, no judging! You may even like them as well. I now give you jenna's Top Ten Embarrassing Music Selections...

1. The Best of Peter Paul and Mary: Their harmonies are so pretty. I still get weepy sometimes when I hear Puff the Magic Dragon.

2. Celtic Woman: Brought to fame by PBS specials, these 5 women sing together and solo beautiful Celtic and Pop songs with passion and grace.

3. ABBA and the Mamma Mia! soundtrack: These are damn catchy songs.

4. The Carpenters Greatest Hits: Karen Carpenter has the most beautiful alto voice ever.

5. The Bangles Greatest Hits: Reminds me of happy childhood times. Also my first CD ever.

6. Gregorian Chants: Very soothing.

7. The Essential Neil Diamond: I grew up listening to Neil as he is The Momma's absolute favorite musician. I resented and despised his music for a good long while. But now I cannot deny his catchy pop music and longevity. I even want to name my first daughter Caroline so I can sing "Sweet Caroline" to her.

8. Select songs from Amy Grant and Wilson Phillips: Again, happy childhood memories. I remember singing with these songs over and over again.

9. New Kids on the Block Greatest Hits: All of you haters need to shut it! NKOTB is back!

10. The sheer amount of Broadway Musicals I have: Great to sing along to. I will always have that inner high school drama kid in me. I don't really have anything more recent than Wicked, so I don't actively pursue or listen to any recent musicals.

There you have it. There are more on my Ipod, but I don't need you to be mocking me any more than what you are now able to.

I have cool, more socially acceptable music too, I swear!

Happy 100th Blog!
