The first week (almost)

I've been in Boston for almost a week. Time has been moving slowly and ridiculously fast at the same time. I've found where I need to go on Monday to start my job with Jumpstart, walked around parts of the city including Davis Square, Porter Square, Harvard and Downtown Crossing. And...

I think I found a place to live! Yay!

It is in a two bedroom apartment on the third floor of a house 5 minutes away from the subway line I take to get to Jumpstart. I will be renting a room from a lady couple who are both 30. The apartment is small and cozy and the room comes furnished with a futon, wardrobe and TV. The couple seem really nice and laid-back. One is a third-grade teacher and the other is a full-time culinary student. Two drawbacks: the heater doesn't work in my room, so they are giving me a space heater and there are pigeons living in the walls. Anybody who knows me should be utterly shocked that I am choosing to live with birds. But I like the place enough to overlook that. I'm pretty excited to move in, which will probably be next weekend or the weekend after that.

Tonight Maegan and I are staying in, drinking beer and watching movies. Oh, and eating chicken. I stuck my hand up a chicken's ass. This week is full of new experiences!

There's an awesome dessert place called "Finale." It has several locations. Everything is awesome.
