what's going on so far in 2010?

Hello, Bloggians. I thought I'd give you an update about what is going on in my life right now.

My holidays were good! This was the first time in years that I was home for the entire month of December and not had to worry about getting home and try to shove all the holiday merriment into a week or two. Santa was very generous to me this year as he gave me a GPS and a bluetooth as well as a few other bits of car-fun. But, for those of you who know me and have tried to get places with me, if you think that I will now never get lost again, you are sadly mistaken. I've already gotten lost while Richard (the GPS) has tried to tell me where to go.

Between Christmas and New Year's Day I met up with some Sandy High alum at the biker bar in Sandy. It was nice to see old faces and see what they were up to. I hadn't see my friend Grant since I graduated and now he lives in Hollywood and is working as an actor. He has been in some movies and TV shows, so it is neato to think that that guy on my screen is the same guy that I directed in the one-act play my senior year. When he wins an Oscar I fully expect to me mentioned in his acceptance speech :)

On New Year's Eve I went to Alison's house out in Estacada. She and her boyfriend were in town from Boston and it was nice to see them again and play Beatles Rockband with them.

2010 has also begun with me unemployed. My seasonal job at Pier 1 ended and now I am looking for some other activity that I will be expected to perform some type of service for a previously agreed upon fee. In other words, jenna want job so jenna have money.

So since I had nothing to do, last week I volunteered at my old high school. I worked with the drama students to get them ready for the conference-wide acting competition that was held yesterday. It was strange to be back at the high school and in the area that I dedicated my whole high school experience to, but it was also really fun. The school still has the same smell, I still remember where everything is and it was a trip to go back onto the stage and poke around backstage. Ahh, memories! I was able to go to the last part of the acting competition yesterday to watch the awards section and the Sandy kids did well. I was very happy for them.

So, now I am at the beginning of another week and still unsure of what lies ahead. I will continue to apply for jobs. At this point, really any job will do. I feel that I need to build up the bank account again before I seriously consider what my next big adventure will be. Until that happens, I'm afraid that these types of posts will be rather boring. I will try to limit those and be as amusing as I can be. Hopefully that will keep your attention until I can write about something exciting in my life :)
