Happy new year hey! it's jenna's blog readers! I hope 2010 is going well for you so far. I, myself enjoy saying "twenty-ten" rather than "two thousand and nine." It just sounds cooler.
The past year was pretty memorable for me. I did more new things this year than I can count. Today's friday favorite entry is about my favorite first experiences from 2009. So, in no particular order...
Attended a Red Sox game (also my first professional sports game)
Went to Washington DC
Went into the Atlantic Ocean (and saw the sunrise over the ocean)
Visited my shiny penny, Erin, in Rhode Island
Lived on two different coasts
Watched the inauguration of President Obama
Read a ridiculous amount of vampire books (Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse series)
Experienced a New England winter with snow on the ground all the time and lived to tell the tale
Saw my first rugby tournament
Abby and Tom came to Boston to visit me and they got married
Became a Godmother to Tanner (hehehe)
Decided that I want to live on the west coast for a good, long while
Saw Keane and The Decemberists live
Thought about going back to school for a Master's degree
Started a (somewhat) regular feature on my blog (you are reading it now)
Participated in the largest shared reading experience in the world, Read for the Record
Got my '64 Buick Special, Babs
Temp job at Pier 1 (and spending more money there than I made. Curse you, 25% discount!)
Became an official adult by drinking coffee daily (damn Dunkin' Donuts)
Reconnected with old friends from high school
Fixed my toilet by installing a new ballcock all by myself :)
That is all I can remember right now. I will probably have a reflection on the past year in my next post. Happy 2010 everyone!
