Happy Friday, everyone! For the first time in a while, I am using my internet inside a house and not a coffee shop (I should probably check in at my usual haunts or else they might worry about me). For the next two weeks I am house sitting for a coworker of The Momma's. This place is fantastic! Aside from the fact that the house and property are gorgeous, there is a huge, flat-screen, HD TV with premium movie channels, a hot tub, Wii, and, as previously mentioned, wi-fi.
I really enjoy house sitting. It's like a vacation without the hassle of actually going anywhere. Today's list is my favorite things about house sitting. If I house sit for you, this is what I will be doing while you are away.
Play with your pets - You all know that I love my kitty, Jelly Bean. But sometimes it's nice to not be ignored and scratched by your own pet. Of course I am going to feed them and let them in and out of the house, but I am also going to play/pet your pets for my own selfish reasons. Right now I am only taking care of three fish tanks, but one of them is a salt water tank and it looks just like "Finding Nemo."
Eat your food - Food always tastes better away from home. It would spoil before you got home anyway, so I am doing you a favor by cleaning out your fridge and pantry.
Watch your TV - You more than likely have a better TV and more channels than I do at home. I won't buy and pay-per-view, so don't worry. I will, however, watch your movies and play your video games if I can figure the systems out. Got an extra rocker on Guitar Hero? It's me, and thanks to you, I rock harder than I did before you left.
Use your products - If the bathroom that I am using has better hair products or good-smelling lotion, I'm going to try it. I won't use a lot, but I will use some.
Read your books and magazines - If it is interesting and I am not finished by the time you get home, I'm going to ask to borrow it. I will also judge you on your choice of reading materials (as well as music and movie selections).
Do my laundry - I'm not going to bring my closet to your house, so I may need to do a load of laundry. I will remember to clean out the lint trap before and after.
Invite The Momma over - She likes your stuff too.
Use your hot tub/ pool/ giant trampoline - C'mon, you know I'm going to have fun with these.
Tidy up a bit - No one wants to come home to a messy house. Of course, all of my messes will be gone, but so will some of yours. You'll want me to house sit again if you come back and the place is nicer than when you left.
And lastly,
Welcome you home...
...and accept any gifts that you bring back for me. :)
