Just call me Dorothy Gail...

...because there is no place like home!

Last Friday I made the 6 hour plane trip from Boston to Oregon. I have been looking forward to this trip for months! If Abby and Tom hadn't come to visit and break up the time between when I purchased the tickets and when I took off, I don't know how I would have made it!

After an uneventful flight (and after my last, VERY eventful trip home, uneventful was welcomed), grammy picked me up at the airport and took me directly to Burgerville. Why, you may be asking, would I go to a fast-food restaurant right as I get here? Because it's fresh strawberry milkshake time!!! I love Burgerville because of their practices of using local foods from sustainable resources, using fresh ingredients and the best damn fast-food in the world! And now they even use all bio-degradable plastics for their containers and utensils. If my non-northwest friends are ever in the area, you must stop at a Burgerville. I even hear that their veggie burgers are yummy.

So after I was fully sated by my fresh strawberry milkshake and my Tillamook cheeseburger, I spent the rest of the afternoon with grammy. This was the first time that she has picked me up for the airport and has seen me before the momma, so I'm sure she was tickled by that. I love that lady! I went to Sandy that evening and I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to see the momma and jelly bean.

Yesterday was wonderful as well. Kyla and Rebecca talked a month ago and decided that all of us girls from high school/ college should have a bit of a reunion during the time I would be home. We all went over to Kyla's mom's house and, oh my goodness, readers, I haven't been so happy in a long time. Kyla, Rebecca (who is pregnant!), Julie, Stephanie, Katy and Nicole (with my Godson Tanner :)) were all there. No matter what I do in life or where we all end up 20 years from now, these girls will always be my girls and I will love them forever. I haven't seen some of them in years, but once we caught everyone up on what we were doing with our lives, it was like we never were apart. I really cherish these friendships and I thank God for these ladies.

Oop, getting a little sappy now. I am in a coffee shop using the wireless internet. It's another lazy Sunday afternoon with nothing ahead of me for the whole day. Ahhh! Vacation!!!
