Into the Ocho

My new favorite thing is to refer to this year as TwoThousand Ocho, or just the Ocho. I have the movie Dodgeball and my great friend Kyla to thank for this.

I am back in SacTown. Yesterday we had a hell of a storm come through with 70 mph winds and crazy rain that hurt when it hit you. The power on campus went out at 11:30 a.m., so we got the rest of the day off because there is nothing that we can do when our computers are down. Yay! day off! The STLs and I went to lunch and then browsed around the mall for a couple of hours for something to do. By the time we got back to McClellan, the power was back. The wind has died down today but it is still raining something fierce. I thought I left all this crap back in Oregon!

Today is The Grammy's birthday. She's 76. I'm going to give her a call now and wish her a happy one. It's probably not your birthday today, but have a great day anyway!

P.S.
I'm adding my friend Stuart's livejournal blog to my Things to Check Out list. He is a fellow Class 13 Corps Member with me and now a fellow STL. I like him lots and anyone who doesn't like him has no soul. Enjoy!
