So, I have been able to keep up with a bit of pop-culture lately (movies and books, no TV). Here are Jenna's Reviews
Transformers: Ok, I saw this movie because I was bored and other people were going out to see it on the 4th of July. It sucked as much as you could think a movie about robots with feelings and the people that develop feelings for the robots sucked. Good heavens...this movie sucked balls. If you saw this movie and enjoyed it...well, sorry I think a movie that you liked sucked.
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry: I didn't think I'd go and see this movie in a theater. I really enjoyed it. Yes, the gay jokes seemed a little tasteless at times, but how bad could it be when there were cameos by Lance Bass, Dave Matthews and, yes, Richard Chamberlain. I laughed a lot and think that people should see it. Maybe not in theaters, but defiantly on DVD.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: The final Harry Potter book. Oh my, the anticipation! No I was not one of the midnight madness people at a bookstore Friday night, but I did get the book the next day. I didn't actually read it until the next week though. Maybe I was prolonging the end of a great literary series. I must say, I was happily satisfied with the whole book and feel a good sense of closure. No, I won't tell you how it ends, you have to read it for yourself.
The Simpsons Movie: I went to see this for my good friend Andy's birthday. SO FREAKIN FUNNY! I think I laughed through the whole movie. It did not disappoint this Simpsons fan that has been devoted to the show since it started all those years ago. I would defiantly pay money to see this in a theater again.
Ratatouille: We snuck into the theater for this movie after seeing The Simpsons Movie. Uhgg, this was such a not-good movie! All I can say is dumb, dumb, dumb. I am not impressed with the idea that rats could be chefs and that they would be accepted by people to cook in restaurants. I was so sad that this was a Pixar film and it sucked. It is the first Pixar that I have not liked. Don't pay money to see this movie! Don't even watch it if you can see if for free! Run and hide from this movie!
That's about it for now. I do miss TV a bit. "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Last Comic Standing" are my favorite summer shows and I don't get to see any of them. I know I can live without TV, I'm living without is right now. I just miss it and enjoy the luxury of it.
