I saw me some 'gators!

Hey friends. Not much happened during this past week. My team was at the boxing gym everyday except Wednesday when we did some landscaping work for the medical clinic. Thursday was the first day that I really disliked being there. Ok, I admit that I do not have any construction skills, but I get really frusterated when all I have to do one day is clean. I had two of those days in a row. I really wish someone could just show me how to do something and then let me go at it, but the work they were doing I guess had to be done by people who already knew what they were doing. And it is true that the boys on my team do get asked to do more than the girls, which bothers me a lot when some of them have just as much or less experience than I do. Katie said she talked to the construction foreman and he said that this next week we'd have more to do and we wouldn't have to stand around and constantly ask what to do next, so I'm trying to stay optimistic about that. I am so ready for a new project with OB and I'd like to take another swing at gutting houses.

Yesterday, Kristi, Lisa, Katie and I went on a swamp boat tour on the Pearl River here in Slidell. I saw my first live alligators! I was really pumped about that. The tour was really cool. I got to see all the things I'd read about in books and seen in movies about the Louisiana swamps. There were 'gators, snakes, birds, turtles, cypress trees, Spanish moss and all other things swampy. There were even fishing camps on the sides of the river with tin roofs and rocking chairs. My life would have been complete if I'd have seen a guy on a rocking chair playing a banjo. Maybe another time...

Oh, guess what. Apparently, on Monday I decided that I wanted to have allergies. So, now I have allergies. I get super stuffy and congested in the morning and evening. When we were doing work at the medical clinic, I went to see a doctor about it and he put me on Claritin. It may be helping a little, but now in the mornings and evenings all I do is cough. I get a real sexy smoker-lady voice at night...it's hot. It sucks trying to get to sleep though.

Not much else to say right now...perhaps I'll think of more new and interesting things to tell ya'll later. But for now...adios amigos!
