Holy crap! It is so close to Jan. 9th! I'm slowly getting stuff pulled together to be packed and my bedroom is getting increasingly messy. I had a terrific Christmas, btw. The most suprising and coolest present I got was a video camera from my grandma. How freakin' cool is that?! Now I will be able to document my NCCC experience on video too. I also got an iHome speaker set for my ipod. Super sweet! It has been a bit of a sad time too tho, because I can't help thinking that these will be the last times I can spend with my family and friends before I leave. I'm trying to absorb all the friend/family time that I can. And it won't be like I'm never going to hear from them, right?
Oh, on a crappy note, about three weeks ago I got a wicked sore throat. This was a bad one, so I had the momma look in my throat to see if there was anything visible. Well, my tonsils were almost touching, they were that swollen. So we headed off to the emergency room where I found out that I had...Mono! Yep, it makes sense. Lately I've been extremely tired, even with 10+ hours of sleep and not being terribly active. The doctor took one look at my neck and felt that my lymph nodes were hugely swollen. There's nothing I can do about it, just wait until it passes. My sore throat and wicked cold went away and while I am still tired most of the time, I can get on with life as usual. I just really hope this does not have a negative impact on my starting out NCCC. I just have to remember not to swap saliva or lick people.
